Professional teeth whitening techniques

In todays self concious world body image is everything. And the latest area to get some attention is teeth. Teeth whitening is really starting to take off. There are now many products on the market, and many services that offer professional teeth whitening techniques and solutions. At the expensive end of the market is a visit to your dentist, closely followed in price by cosmetic beatuification salons. The least costly solutions DIY teeth whitening which are either purchased from you local pharmacy or supermarket, or right down to the cheapest solution of all a home brew teeth whitening recipe.
Which ever method you choose to beautify your teeth just remember that one session or application will not be enough, you will need to commit to many treatments over a period of time. This can get costly, so be warned.
Professional Led Light Teeth Whitening
The professional services offered by your dentist or cosmetic salon always use whitening gels and a light source to activate the gels. The gels are normally a hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide solution and are much stronger than the home use teeth whitening kits, the light sources are usually a plasma, halogon, laser, or ultraviolet light source.
You should expect to pay around $100 to $120 per session to have your teeth professionally whitened. To reach maximum whiteness the average person will need between 3 to 5 sessions of professional treatment.
Teeth Whitening Kits
Purchasing a home use kit from the chemist or supermarket can be a bit hit and miss, whilst there are many toothpaste products that will whiten teeth they are no where near as effective as the professional services or even the specialists products you can buy or even make yourself. Of the dedicated store bought products you can expect to pay anywhere between $20 to $50 depending on the products effectiveness (ie strength of whitening gel). The home teeth whitening kits usually include a teeth tray which looks like a mouth guard and a gel that is placed or ingested into the tray. The tray holds the gel against the teeth or if you like the teeth sit in the gel with the tray attached for a few minutes of each application.
Teeth Whitening Techniques at Home
The last solution is my personal favourite, not only because i’m cheap but because its fun to do, is the more pleasant experience of each, and works very well. My teeth whitening technique is to make up my own solution using 1 tablespoon of baking soda, 3 to 5 drops of 3% hydrogen peroxide and some mashed up strawberries. The strawberries contain acids that attach plaque and tarter and the pips are are great abrasive surface not too hard but also not too soft, the baking soda also provides an abrasive material that is much small in surface area that is then able to penetrate into the small crevaces in the teeth as well as offering a whitening effect.
The technique is to mix all ingredience well, do not use a blender, a fork will be suffecient and then apply to the teeth with a tooth brush. Make sure there is a good and even coverage over every tooth. Leave the solution on for between 5 and 10 minutes and then brush your teeth with the mixture as you would when you brush normally. Rinse with water, brush your teeth with your normal tooth paste making sure to get any starwberry pips that are caught between the teeth, did i mention flossing. Repeat once a week and start showing of those pearly whites by smiling more.
